Police armed with candy

On Halloween night, watch out for Gardner Police Officers walking neighborhoods.
They may be armed – with candy.
No costumes though, they will be wearing the real thing – the new official GPD uniforms.
Chief Gerald Cullumber and Captain Jim Moore will be taking to the streets as well.
Cullumber has added extra coverage for Halloween night and has instructed his officers to park their vehicles and get in some foot patrol time.
Cullumber says this community initiative is two-fold: -he wants the police visible to both trick or treaters and adults and he wants to demonstrate to residents the departments’ commitment to create and provide a safe community.
